Key Features of the Let’s Resin Heat Mat
Auto-off Timer
The new and improved Let’s Resin heat mat comes with a timer, which can be set to 2 hours, 4 hours and 6 hours. When the time is up, the resin curing mat will automatically turn off. It is safer and easy to use. It also reduces the chance of the mat warping.
Faster Curing
Using a heat mat for resin can significantly shorten the curing time. The curing time for general purpose 1:1 ratio resins can be reduced from 24 to 3-4 hours. This helps you make more in a shorter time as you can un-mould faster than usual.
Silicone Mold Friendly
When you use heat guns, torches and other equipment to speed up curing, you can sometimes see more bubbles and damage your molds.
The Let’s Resin heat mat ensures even heat and helps to reduce the generation of bubbles unlike some heat mats that do not disperse heat evenly.
Anti-slip & Reusable
This heat mat comes with a 16.5”x11” silicone mat to protect the heat mat and ensure your moulds don’t slip. It’s easy to clean, easy to store and can be reused.
Things to keep in mind when using a heat mat
- The thickness of the resin should be within 20mm exceeding this could cause flash cures or too much heat.
- Your mold needs to be in full contact with the silicone pad to ensure it heats evenly.
- Do not leave the heating pad for too long – it is an electrical item and should not be used over night.
What do we think?
Having used the Let’s Resin Heat Mat for several weeks over the UK winter, we think it is amazing! Unlike other mats on the market, it has not warped and we find the auto timer to be a really useful feature. Overall, it has been great for some of our smaller and bigger projects like flower preservation. It has reduced Amine Blush and sped up thinner pieces like bookmarks and keyrings.
